Description:

Join us for an in-depth look at the newly published ACI-PTI 320 Post-Tensioned Concrete Code. Co-presented by Carol Hayek (Outgoing Chair) and Don Kline (Incoming Chair), this session will explain the purpose and scope of the new code, how it is organized, and how it compliments ACI 318. We’ll also highlight key provisions unique to ACI-PTI 320 and what they mean for practicing engineers and designers.

Bio 

Don Kline, P.E.

Don Kline has over 30 years of experience in the design, construction, and repair of post-tensioned concrete structures. As the founder and principal at Kline Engineering & Consulting, Don specializes in designing new post-tensioned concrete structures and provides consulting services for evaluating, repairing, and strengthening existing concrete structures. He has designed numerous commercial and residential buildings, parking structures, and other types of structures.

Don is a Fellow at both the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI). He is a member of the National Capital Chapter for ACI and the Structural Engineers Association (SEA) Metropolitan Washington Chapter. He serves on several PTI committees, including Building Design (DC-20), Repair, Rehabilitation, and Strengthening (DC-80), and the Code Change Task Group. He is the current chair of ACI-PTI 320 (Post-Tensioning Code) and also serves on ACI 423 (Prestressed Concrete), ACI 362 (Parking Structures), and ACI 301-I (PT Specifications).

Don has published articles in various periodicals, including Concrete International, Structure Magazine, and the PTI Journal. He has presented papers at conferences organized by ACI, PTI, the American Segmental Bridge Institute (ASBI), and the International Federation for Structural Concrete (fib)
